Russia - Alexey Vorobyov - Get You

RUSSIA

Alexey Vorobyov - Get You

Alexey Vorobyov will fly the flag for Russia this year in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Dusseldorf. After a successful career in Russia and surrounding nations Vorobyov heads to ESC as a strong contender. Russia is due a return to the top ten of the Eurovision scoreboard and after two years in 11th place this could well be the year Russia triumph again!

Russia has enlisted the help of worldwide musicwriting superstar Redone, of Lady Gaga fame, to aid them in their quest for further Eurovision glory and the song works. Its a modern day, up tempo pop number with an obvious track, progressive beat and a dance feel. In addition, a singalong chorus and memorable hooks must make this a favourite to win. Personally, I feel the performance from Vorobyov and his voice is not strong enough and something shouts out to me that this would work better with a female voice. Nevertheless given the fact that the song is modern and strong and the fact that its Russia, this could well win the contest! After all, Russia have come much higher with far worse songs. Top 10 for sure and a certain contender I feel for the crown.

Could well win Eurovision 2011!

I could live with quite a lot of songs even when they are not my faves. But not with the Russian entry. The song must have been found at the bottom of RedOne's drawer: It's dated euro-dance trash.
